My special thanks go to Sara who organized the dojo 'deep clean' this past weekend, and to all of you who worked hard to make it happen.  The dojo certainly had a certain sparkle when I walked in to class Monday evening! Our thanks also to Tim and Laurie who hosted a great summer party for the dojo.  It was also the occasion to say our goodbyes to Nate who left the next morning to drive across the country to Annapolis to join his wife, Amanda. We wish them the very best.  Keep checking our website for photos of this occasion - they should be up soon.

Our annual Regional Weapons Seminar comes up at the end of the month and will be held at Aikido Daiwa the weekend of September 29-30.  I want to encourage you all to attend.  It is an opportunity to take classes from other teachers in our organization as well as to train with their students.  We are one big family. Please watch the bulletin board for a sign-up sheet for attendance and car pooling.  Please also let me know if you are a kyu rank and are interesting in going. Click here for more information.

There will be a Kids’ One-Day Seminar, including testing for those ready, on Saturday, October 27th. Click here for more information.

An inter-dojo seminar with members of Aikido of Albuquerque (Phil Vargas Sensei), San Diego Aikikai (Deena Drake Sensei) and ourselves, has been tentatively set for the first weekend in November to take place at San Diego Aikikai. Further news forthcoming.

I hope everyone can make it to the kids' seminar! It will be fun for all of us and a great way to get to know the younger members of the dojo!!
